The core rule

Make subtitles only for recordings you have the right to use: your own videos and recordings, or recordings whose owner allows it. Do not use the results to break the law or to harm other people.

Prohibited uses

• Making subtitles to copy, share, or sell films, shows, or other works in breach of their owners' rights.
• Transcribing a conversation that was recorded without the consent the law requires.
• Using subtitles or transcripts to harass, threaten, or expose other people.
• Attempting to disrupt the Service or the systems that deliver it.
